Joseph “Howard” Darby,
84, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at home. He was born on
February 21, 1931, in Beaumont, to Mabel Simoneaux Darby and Ignace Yves Darby,
and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Howard is a United
States Army Veteran. He served in the Korean War where he received a Purple
Heart. Howard went on to work for Chevron for many years as an operator. He was
a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Howard is survived by
his loving wife of sixty-three years, Myrna; sons, Michael Howard Darby and his
wife, Vicky Lynne; and Ronald James Darby and his wife, Sheila; daughter,
Kimberly Dianne Darby; grandchildren, Eric Christopher Darby; and Jared Michael
Darby and his wife, Stephanie; and great-grandchild, Harper Jade Darby.
A Rosary will be
recited for Mr. Darby at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering of his family and friends
to follow, on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin
Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.,
Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road,
Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
