Isabelle Dorsey

Isabelle Dorsey, 89, of Nederland died Thursday, September 3, 2015. She was born on June 15, 1926, in Chelyan, West Virginia, to Emma McCormick and Elmer Jarrell.

Isabelle retired from Nederland Independent School District, where she worked in the cafeteria for many years. She enjoyed crafting and sewing. Isabelle loved flowers and was an avid bird lover. She was very fond of her Dachshund, “Mitsy”.

Survivors include her husband of seventy-three years, Arnold Dorsey; son, James Dorsey; daughter, Lynne Parker and her husband, T.J., all of Nederland; granddaughter, Jo Bent and her husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Emily, Evan, and Eli Bent; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Deuley of West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Elrena Dunaway.

A gathering of Mrs. Dorsey’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
