Dr. Rodney Phillips

Dr.
Rodney Phillips, 76, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Jefferson
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaumont. He was born on September 29, 1938,
in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Dorthy McClain Phillips and Orban O. Phillips, and
had been a resident of Beaumont for forty-five years. Dr. Phillips was a United
States Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a retired oral
surgeon.
Dr. Phillips is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Ruth Phillips; daughter, Kitty
Young and her husband, William, of Kingwood; son, Scott Phillips and his wife,
Sandra, of Friendswood; and grandchildren, McClain Bruno, of Houston, Griffin
Bruno and Tessa Young, both of Kingwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Philip Phillips.
A
gathering of Dr. Phillips’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive,
Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015, at
Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Avenue, Beaumont. A private
family interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
