Gerald "Roy" L. Jordan

Gerald L.
“Roy” Jordan, 70, of LaBelle, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at Beaumont Nursing
and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. He was born on May 16, 1945, in Port Arthur, to
Gertie Etta Smith Jordan and Jesse Watson Jordan, and had been lifelong
resident of the area.
Roy was a
United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967.
He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Master Mason and a member of B.F.
Quicksall Lodge #1370 A.F. & A.M. in Beaumont. Roy worked for Goodyear for
many years before his retirement.
Survivors
include his daughter, Kimberly Jordan Duncan and her husband, David C. Duncan;
sisters, Lillian Mueller, Donna RoQuemore, Frankie Johnson, Jeanette Sterling,
and Lenoire West; brother, Bill Jordan; grandchildren, David Duncan, Jr.,
Justin Duncan, Alexandra Duncan, and Danielle Duncan; and great-grandchildren, David
Duncan III and Harper Duncan.
Roy is
preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Jordan.
The
family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas
and Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking such great care of Roy. Your
kindness is greatly appreciated.
A
gathering of Mr. Jordan’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2015, at
Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
