After celebrating her 102nd
birthday on Monday, July 13, Alice Catherine Borchelt, of Parkersburg, West
Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July
16, 2015. She was born July 13, 1913, in Zenda, Kansas, to the late August and
Mary Marx Eining, and she moved to Donna, Texas when she was five.
Alice married Eric Borchelt on
September 27, 1941, and they moved to Beaumont, Texas, where she lived until
2000, when she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and
Kenneth, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She will be remembered for her devotion
to her family, her commitment to her Savior, Jesus Christ, her positive
attitude and gratefulness, her beautiful smile, her sense of humor, and her way
of always putting others before herself. Alice was a member of North
Parkersburg Baptist Church and a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in
Beaumont.
Alice is survived by her
daughter, Carolyn Hoelscher and her
husband, Ken; grandchildren, David Hoelscher and his wife, Annette, of Kirkland, Washington; Heather Garcia and
her husband, Joseph, of Charleston, West Virginia; and Kyndale Boram, of
Lumberton, Texas; great-grandchildren, Eric, Julie, and Elena Hoelscher, all of
Kirkland, Washington; and Kylee and Cameron Boram of Lumberton, Texas;
daughter-in-law, Naomi Borchelt of Beaumont, Texas; and sister-in-law, Helen
Eining of Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Eric; son, Dale Borchelt; daughter, Joanne Borchelt; brothers,
Delbert Eining and Ralph Eining ; sister, Irene Eining; and sister-in-law, Ruth
Eining.
A graveside service for Mrs.
Borchelt was held Friday, August 7, 2015, at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, under
the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her memorial
service was held in Parkersburg, West Virginia, under the direction of Leavitt
Funeral Home Parkersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to Friendship Kitchen at North Parkersburg Baptist
