Sorace Johnson, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, at her
home. She was born in Reggio Calabria,
Italy to Rosario Sorace and Giovanna Bertucci Sorace.
She is preceded
in death by her husband Cecil Kenneth Johnson, her parents, and her brothers
Bruno, Marco and Rosario Sorace.
She is survived
by her sister-in-law and her husband, Myrna Johnson Brocato and Anthony G.
Brocato, her brother-in-law Cecil Clyde Johnson, Jr. and his wife Juanita, and numerous
nieces and nephews. She is also survived
by her dear and loyal friend Stellina Vannini Reed.
Laura loved
everything Italian and was an active member of the International Club of
Beaumont. Speaking several different
languages, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family in
Italy. She was a faithful member of St.
Anne Catholic Church regularly attending Sunday mass and participating in
church events.
A graveside Christian
service will be celebrated by Father Ross Waggoner at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday,
August 5, 2015, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the
direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial mass intentions may be made to St.
Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder
