Verna Mae Prevost

Verna M. Prevost, 85, of Beaumont,
died Monday, July 15, 2015. She was born to Olinore Reed Manuel and Doreville
Manuel on May 31, 1930, in Eunice, Louisiana.
Verna lived a rewarding life. On
February 26, l949, she was married to Charles H. Prevost. They moved to
Beaumont where she and Charles raised three sons, Gerry W. Prevost, Dale C.
Prevost, and Gregory K. Prevost. After graduating from beauty school she opened
a beauty shop in the South Park area of Beaumont, Verna’s Beauty Salon. She
owned and operated the salon for more than 10 years. Verna and Charlie traveled
to many places during their life together. After her retirement she moved to
Harlingen and lived there for several years. Many close friendships were made
and Verna cherished this time of her life and spoke of it often. Verna was a
member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church and St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic
Church.
Survivors include her children,
Gerry Wayne Prevost and his wife, Mary Kay Prevost; Dale Charles Prevost and
his wife, Beth Prevost; and Gregory Keith Prevost and his wife, Paula Prevost;
grandchildren, Charles E. Prevost, Alisha Kay Prevost, Coby D. Prevost, Cory L.
Prevost, Carisa Patrice Prevost, Makayla Jeanne Prevost, Kimberla Ashton Prevost,
and Gregory Keith Prevost. God also blessed her with seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Charles H. Prevost; her parents; her brothers, Joseph Manuel, Percy
Manuel, J.B. Manuel, Howard Manuel; and one sister, Carriene Manuel.

Mother.
A Christian Wake for Mrs. Prevost
will be at 6:00 p.m. with her gathering to follow until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July
19, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2015, at St. Jude
Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with her graveside
service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, 223 Cemetery Road,
Winnie.
