Doris
May Johns, 90, of Lufkin, died Monday, July 13, 2015 at Harbor Hospice,
Beaumont. She was born on February 20, 1925, in Redland, to Allie Stevens and
Mather Newton Lankford. She was the human resources manager for Lufkin Conroe
Telephone Exchange for 43 years.
Survivors
include husband, James Johns of Lufkin; sister/niece, Sue Harris of Houston;
numerous nieces and nephews; five stepsons; and special daughter, “Missy” Robin
Wilson of New Castle, Indiana.
She
is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Abe Lankford and Billy Lankford;
and sisters, Alene Harbuck, Mazie Tweedie, and Mary Jamroz.
A
gathering of Mrs. Johns’ family and friends will be beginning at 1:00 p.m.,
with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
