Mary Ellen Bennett Wisrodt
December 20, 1928 - July 4, 2015
Mary Ellen Bennett Wisrodt, 86, of Beaumont, died
peacefully in her sleep Saturday, July 4, 2015, at the Grace Care Center in
Tomball. A long time resident of
Beaumont, she was a graduate of Beaumont High and worked as Church Secretary at
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for twenty-five years before moving to Crystal
Beach, where she worked as a Medical Secretary for University of Texas Medical
Branch before retiring with A.V., her loving husband of forty-seven years. Mary
Ellen enjoyed reading anything she could get her hands on and cherished her
time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Good or bad,
Mary Ellen was always there for her family.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Lyvers, of
Houston; brother, Robert Bennett and his wife, Linda, of California; daughter,
Martha Rienstra, of Katy; son-in-law, Alan Supple, of Round Top;
daughter-in-law, Maria Wisrodt, of Houston; cousins, Ann Cook and Bill Menefee;
granddaughters, Marianna Stivers and her husband, Vick; Mary Liz Gaasch and her husband, Bill; Meghan Encinias and her
husband, Erik, and Katie Leviner and her husband, Zach; grandsons, Richard Rienstra, Jr. and his wife, Keri; Chris
Rienstra and his wife, Amanda; and Hank Wisrodt, Jr. and his wife, Lauren; and
fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her mother, Dolly
Thames Bennett; brother, Earl Bennett; husband, August V. Wisrodt, Jr.;
daughter, Elizabeth Supple; and sons, Henry Wisrodt and August Wisrodt III.
A gathering of Mrs. Wisrodt’s family and friends
will began at 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue,
Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Magnolia
Cemetery, Beaumont.
