Velma J Reid
July 24, 1924 - July 5, 2015
Velma Reid, 90, of Winnie, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015,
at the Arboretum of Winnie. Velma was born on July 24, 1924, in Oklahoma, to
Blance and Wes Lowe, and was the oldest of eight children. She had been a
long-time resident of the Winnie area.
Mrs. Reid is survived by her son, Kenneth Murphy, and his
wife, Liz, of Vidor; granddaughters, Tina Murphy and Wendy Adris;
great-grandchildren, Brittany DuBose, Faith and Skylar Day;
great-great-grandchildren, Bryce Dubose, Kynslie and Averie Bruno; sisters,
Katheryn Weekly, of Winnie and Minniebelle Burley, of Houston; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by parents; husbands, Wallace Reid
and David Pennington; brothers, Cleive, Waymon, James Wesley and Wade Lowe; and
sister, Jeannie Mikelson.
A graveside service for Mrs. Reid will be 10:00 a.m.,
Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Fairview Cemetery, 223 Cemetery Road, Winnie, under
the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
