Horace L. Pickard, 85, of Nederland, died Sunday, July 05, 2015. He was born on March 21, 1930, in San Augustine, to Virgie Chumley and William Pickard.

Horace enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He collected knives and loved family gathering. Horace was a good husband and father. He enjoyed gardening and his yard. He was a deacon at West Groves Church of Christ.

Horace is survived by his wife, Peggy L. Pickard; daughter, Brenda William and her husband, Byron; son, Don Pickard; grandchildren, Kristen Roy and her husband, David; Amy Williams and her husband, Clint; Megan Frankum; Donny Pickard; Brian Williams and his wife, Brandy; Ashley Kibideaux; Courtny Evans; and Dylan Williams; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor Mills and her husband, Ernest.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Louise Lyons, and Bernice Blue; and brothers, Burton Pickard and Willie Pickard.

A gathering of Mr. Pickard’s friends and family will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
