Tammy Lee Drury
January 22, 1963 - July 2, 2015
Tammy
Lee Drury, 52, of Beaumont, died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at University Texas
Medical Branch, Galveston. She was born and raised in Orange, California, on
January 22, 1963, to Donna Liermann Hayes and Jerry Hayes, and moved to
Beaumont in 1982. Tammy was named after the Tammy Doll, and survived a battle
with cancer at the age of 8.
Tammy
married Mike on April 8, 1989, and they renewed their vows by Elvis, on April
8, 1999. She wanted to be a lawyer because she liked to argue. Right or wrong,
she never lost an argument. Instead she spent twenty years in the title business
before working for Attorney Walt Snider, serving as a paralegal. Where ever she
worked she would become close to the others in the office. Many clients would
want to meet and hug Tammy, just because of all the time she spent on the phone
with them.
She
is helping others today by being an organ donor.
Her
goal for retirement was to sit in a rocking chair and just talk and talk. The Brady
Bunch was her favorite show. She loved the beach and was the queen of the 2001
Mardi Gras parade at the beach. She enjoyed her pets, and pulling weeds, and
especially loved hanging out with her friends.
Tammy
is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Michael Drury; mother, Donna
Hayes, of Orange, California; and sisters, Teri Nehrenz, of Long Beach,
California and Teresa Hayes, of Joshua Tree, California.
She
is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Hayes.
A
gathering of Mrs. Drury’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., Monday, July 6, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at St. John
Lutheran Church, 2955 South Major Drive, Beaumont, with her interment to follow
at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
