Trixie Marie Bertrand

Trixie Marie Bertrand, 80, of Winnie, died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born June 20, 1934, to Amelia Landry Benoit and Alcee Benoit, in Morse, Louisiana.

Survivors include her husband, Alexson Bertrand, Sr., of Winnie; sons, Terry Bertrand, of Stowell and Billy Bertrand, of Winnie; daughters, Becky McMahan and her husband, Paul, and Laura Shafer and her husband, Tommy, all of Winnie; and Sara Rose and her husband, Steve, of Hamshire; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Verde, of Beaumont; son-in-law, Charles Underwood, of Stowell; and brother-in-law, Curtis Abshire.

Mrs. Bertrand was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Underwood; and grandsons, Patrick Rose and Robert Smith.

A gathering of Mrs. Bertrand’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
