Neal Morgan

Neal Morgan, 81, of Nederland, died Friday, May 22, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on March 27, 1934, to Hazel May and Lowell O’Neal Morgan, Sr., in Beaumont.

Neal enjoyed reading, writing, and ranching. He was a published author, former head football coach, and an avid Bulldog fan. Neal will be remembered as a dedicated husband, loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his son, Lance Morgan and his wife, Christine, of Austin; daughter, Allison McBride and her husband, Mike, of Nederland; grandchildren, Molly Morgan and her fiancé, Reagan Womack and Ethan and Morgan McBride; great-grandchildren, Kayd, Garrison, and Archer Houston and Zack Williamson; brother, Bob Morgan and his wife, Sandy, of Nederland; special friend, Patricia Kathleen “Pat” Harvill of LaMarque; uncle, James Morgan and his wife, Vera, of Nederland; several nieces and nephews; and a host of treasured friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years, Marilyn Morgan; parents; brother, Edward Morgan; and sister, Linda Wallace.

A gathering of Mr. Morgan’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
