Gale Walker, 68, of Nederland
died Friday, May 22, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was
born on January 19, 1947, to Mavis Mary Saurez and Amos Wilford Guidry, Sr., in
Abbeville, Louisiana.
Gale was involved in the Port
Arthur Little Theater and was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic
Church where she participated in the Women’s Prison Ministry. She will be
remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother with a generous heart and
caring spirit making everyone feel welcomed. You always left with a warm heart
and full belly. She was a bright spot in the life of everyone she met.
Survivors include her loving
husband of forty-nine years, Lowell Walker, Sr.; sons, Lowell Walker, Jr. of
Nederland; David Walker and his fiancée, Stephanie Barclay, of Houston; and
Matthew Walker and his fiancée Joann Perez, of Jacksonville, North Carolina;
daughters, Katherine Walker and her wife, Carmen, of Port Neches; Emily Davis
and her husband, Steve, of Orange; and Jennifer Walker of Houston;
grandchildren, Brittany, Brock, Brad, Candace, Jessica, Lauren, Marleigh,
Shaelin, Everlie, Emersen, and Bree’Onna; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Gale;
brothers, Billy, Tommy, John, and Rusty Guidry; and sister, Sandra Apperson.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; and brother, Burton Guidry.
The family would like to extend a
special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care.
A gathering of Mrs. Walker’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian
Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May
25, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland.
A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
