Betty Ruth Vassar, 79, of
Kountze, died Sunday, May 17, 2015. She
was born on July 28, 1935, in Spurger, to Ruby Mae Blume Anderson and Thomas
Houston Anderson, Sr.
Survivors include her husband,
Joe Glenwood Vassar; children, Harold Vassar and his wife, Gwen, of Kountze and
Nolan Vassar and his wife, Glenda, of Edinburg; grandchildren, Joshua Vassar,
Derek Vassar, and Phillip Vassar; great-grandchild, Jacob Vassar; and siblings,
Patsy Ann Thomas, Lucretia Huddleston, Emery Anderson, Sr., and Brenda
Gagliano. She is preceded in death by
her parents; and sisters and brothers.
A gathering of family and friends
will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road,
Silsbee. Her funeral service will be
1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery,
Beaumont.
