Agnes Carey Simonetti

Agnes Carey Simonetti, born August
3, 1924 in Beaumont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2015, after a
long illness.
She attended schools in Beaumont
and graduated from South Park High School in 1941. She had her own dance
school, Agnes Carey School of Dance, for several years, and enjoyed dance all
her life. Agnes was a member of several Methodist churches, most recently
Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served in United Methodist Women in
various capacities and hand bell choir. She was a member of numerous civic
organizations, often serving on committees and as president. For many years
Agnes worked with Camp Fire Girls, leading groups as well as summer day camps.
She served as a volunteer at the French Trading Post and McFaddin-Ward
House. She was secretary in the
Government Department at Lamar University.
Agnes married Christopher
Simonetti in 1975, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends to many
different countries and throughout the United States. Agnes loved cooking and
entertaining her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, John
Simonetti and wife, Jeanne, of Kingwood; Harold Simonetti and wife, Debbie, of
Beaumont; daughters, Amanda Lucas and husband, John, of Jacksonville, Florida;
Mary Charlotte Bailey and husband, Michael, of Highlands; sister, Louise Carey
Eberhardt of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Mabel Kessler of Billerica, Massachusetts;
seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces; one great-niece;
three great-nephews; and four great-great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Friend and Augusta Carey; brother, Robert Carey; husband, Christopher
Simonetti; and great-grandson, Hunter Markham.
A gathering of Mrs. Simonetti's
family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2015, at
Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 11:00
a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison
Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Beaumont.
