Joe Lee Richard, 85, of Beaumont,
died Thursday, April 30, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he
was born on December 23, 1929, in Nederland, to Eva LeJune and Joe Cleve
Richard.
Joe was a United States Army
veteran and had retired from Central Freight Line as a truck driver. He was a
life member of VFW in Port Neches. Joe was a member of the Boy Scouts and Cajun
Club. He loved football and baseball.
Survivors include his loving
wife, Norma Richard; daughter, Elizabeth Hamaker and her husband, David; son,
Cleve Adam Richard; grandchildren, Anthony Joseph Harvey and Bianca Kirkland;
and great-grandchildren, Aidan Kirkland and Liam Kirkland, all of Beauxart
Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; sister, Beatrice Junot; brothers, Ambrose, Ivy, Raymond, and Reese
Richard. A gathering of Mr. Richard’s
family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary
recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.,
Monday, May 4, 2015, at St. Charles Catholic Borromeo Catholic Church, 211
Hardy Avenue, Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port
Neches. Memorial contributions may be made
in Mr. Richard’s memory to New Century Hospice, 3965 Phelan Boulevard, Suite
108, Beaumont, Texas 77707, or Hughen Center, 2849 9th Avenue, Port Arthur
