Marie Seaberg
August 4, 1944 - April 29, 2015
Marie Seaberg, 70, of
Beaumont, who had been an active and vibrant woman only six weeks earlier,
passed away, Wednesday, April 29, 2015, after a brief bout with cancer. She was
born on August 4, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida, to Margaret Lewis Seaberg and
Anton Seaberg.
Marie graduated from
French High School and Lamar University and was widely known as a P.E. teacher,
golf and volleyball coach at West Brook High School for many years. After
retiring from BISD, she kept busy with a part time job at L’Oreal. Marie was a
long time member of North End Baptist Church in Beaumont. She was loving,
caring, giving, had a great sense of humor, and loved her family dearly. Marie
also loved shopping, dining out, traveling, and enjoyed good health until back
pain led to the discovery of cancer early last month.
Survivors include her
sister, Annette Seaberg Todd and her husband, Johnny, of Sour Lake; niece,
Amanda Jackson and her husband, Henry, of Pearl City, Hawaii; nephews, Ashley
Todd and his wife, Mysti, of Sour Lake; and Adam Todd of Chicago, Illinois;
great-niece, Alexis Todd; and great-nephews, Adyn Todd, Adyson Todd, Asher
Todd, and Trevor Benson.
Marie is preceded in
death by her parents; brother, Leo Fuller; and great-niece, Cora Faith Benson.
A gathering of Ms.
Seaberg’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday,
May 1, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral
service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Broussard’s, with
Reverend David Goolsby officiating. Her interment will follow at Magnolia
Cemetery, Beaumont.
Pallbearers will be
Donnie Schroeder, Larry Hendon, Arvin Fails, Charles Trahan, Kim McMurray, and
Terry Ingram.
The family would like
to thank Dr. Scott McKenney, his nurse, Christie Shoemaker, and all of the
nurses on the oncology wing at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for the
wonderful care they gave to Marie.
