Ward.
R. Montgomery, 73, of LaBelle, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Harbor
Hospice, Beaumont, after a long fight with cancer. He was born in Granite City,
Illinois, on August 21, 1941, to Laura Grace Long Montgomery and Ward L.
Montgomery.
Ward
served three years in the Armed Forces. After moving to Port Arthur, he started
his own company, Coastal Radio and Radar, Inc., and was an electronics tech on
Inland Waterways and the Gulf of Mexico. Ward was a Ham Radio Operator WA0JRI and
NV2D and was also a member of the Winnie-Stowell Lodge #1377.
Ward
dearly loved flying his own planes from the late 1960’s when he earned his
pilot’s license.
He
is survived by his wife, Joyce; and a host of cousins in Missouri and
Louisiana.
A
family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the
direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
