Margaret
“Maggie” L. Priest, 63, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, at
Christus Hospital – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on October 17, 1951,
to Clara Prim and Kenneth Prim, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After
graduating C.E. Byrd High School, Maggie attended Louisiana State University.
She went on to become an accountant, and worked for Brock Enterprises for many
years before her retirement. Maggie was a devoted wife, mother, best friend, and
“Nonna” and loved her family more than anything. She was loved by many and will be deeply
missed.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Pete Priest; sons, Trey Priest and his wife, Erin
and Danny Priest and his wife, Tara; granddaughters, Chloe Priest, Emily
Priest, Carli Priest, and Brooklyn Priest, all of Lumberton; brother, Kenneth
Prim and his wife, Carolyn, of Bossier City, Louisiana; two nephews and one
niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A
gathering of Mrs. Priest’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.,
Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her
funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2015, at Broussard’s, with
her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney
Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016.
