Trudy Ann Jones - Simien
April 12, 1957 - April 9, 2015
Trudy Ann Jones-Simien
was born on April 12, 1957, to the union of Anna Jones and the late Dossman
Jones, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Trudy accepted the Lord as her personal Savior
and was baptized at an early age. Trudy received her education through the Winnie
public school system. On November 6, 1971, Trudy and Gilbert Simien, Sr., were
united in Holy Matrimony at St. Louis Catholic Church in Winnie. They shared
forty-two wonderful years of marital bliss. They were blessed with two
wonderful children, Gilbert James Simien, Jr and Tara Lois Greene. In her spare
time she enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her puppy, tending to
her horses, and volunteering many hours at church. Trudy served as a Lector and
Eucharistic Minister, brought communion to the residents of the nursing home,
and conducted mass for them. She was always a faithful participant in the
yearly making of the rice balls.
Trudy was preceded in
death by her father, Dossman Jones; sister, Lois Marie Jones; father and
mother-in-law, Ervin and Lillian Simien; godmother, Mary Green; godsister,
Delores Green; and goddaughter, Mary Joseph.
On Thursday, April 9,
2015, God looked in His garden and saw her tired and weary face. He said,
"Come unto me for thou art weary, I will give you rest", and she
entered into eternal rest.
