Alvin “Lee” Martin, 68, of
Winnie, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at , Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston. He
was born on March 15, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Lois Martin and Alvin
Augusta Funke, and had been a resident of the Winnie area since 1999. Alvin was
a retired police officer from the Center Police Department.
Mr. Martin is survived by sons,
Kevin Martin and his wife, Kerry, of Houston and Michael Martin and his wife,
Lia, of Lovelady; daughter, Melissa Menchaca and her husband, Johnny, of Pasadena;
grandchildren, Trenton Martin, Bradley Luckey, Melody Cantu, Sharon Martin,
Landree Martin, Kody Martin, and Kassie Martin; great-grandchildren, Adrian
Cantu, Gabriel Cantu, Landon Martin-Pitman and Payton Martin; sister, Linda
Brown of Fort Smith, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Velma Jannise Martin; and brother, Harold Martin.
A gathering of Mr. Martin’s
family and friends will begin at 2:00 pm, with his funeral service at 3:00 pm,
Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A
family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, with
interment at China Cemetery, China.
