John R. Pounders

John R. Pounders, of Lumberton, passed from
this life to be with his Lord on April 1, 2015.
He was born on September 25, 1949, in Beaumont, to Henrietta Whiteley Pounders and
Charlie Pounders.
John was a beloved husband,
father, grandfather, and friend. He was
a faithful servant of God, serving wherever and whenever he was needed. John could fix any trinket, gadget, or
electronic device, but he could not fix the ails of his own body. At 65 years of age, he succumbed to the
damage of several strokes. He had
recently retired from Xerox after thirty-seven years of employment and was a
very active member of his church; Family
Worship Center,
in Beaumont.
John is survived by his wife of
twenty-five years, Carol Pounders; children, Darrick Pounders of Kirbyville;
Darrell Pounders and his wife, Marianna, of Arizona; Tammy Richardson of
Lumberton; and Britt Seaman and his wife, Carla, of Kountze; grandchildren,
Jordan Guidry and her husband, Zach and Emily Seaman, all of Lumberton; Hayden
Seaman of Kountze; and Ryder Richardson of Lumberton; and sister, Linda Drexler
and her husband, Jim of California. He
is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Mr. Pounders’
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 5,
2015, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery
Road, Silsbee.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2015, at
Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Hardin Memorial Park,
Silsbee.
