Flora Mae Bourgeois, 88, of Fannett, died Sunday, March 22,
2015. She was born on November 22, 1926, in Port Arthur, to Flora Mae Wells
Poteet and William Edward Poteet.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula Johnson and her
husband, Don and Cindy Slay and her husband, Mike, all of Fannett;
grandchildren, Michael Gowling and his wife, Cheryl and Jeannie Lowe and her
husband, Darrell; great-grandchildren, Jarroth and Corbyn; numerous nieces and
nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Flora will be especially
missed by her faithful canine companion, Precious, and her many other granddogs
and grandcats.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of
forty-nine years, Paul Bourgeois; and sister, Viola Montgomery.
Flora will be remembered as a loving mother and
grandmother. She enjoyed shopping,
soap operas, and eating chocolate.
A gathering of Mrs. Bourgeois’ family and friends will begin
at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015,
at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Interment will follow at
Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
In lieu of flowers, the
family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Bourgeois’
