Charles E. (Leon) Reed

Charles E. (Leon) Reed, 90, of
Port Arthur, died Sunday, March 8, 2015.
He was born on February 24, 1925, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Grace Bell
White Reed and Charles Thomas Reed.
Charles was a United States Navy
veteran having served in World War II. He was an elder and longtime member of
Park Central Church of Christ and a Paul Harris Fellow in North Port Arthur
Rotary Club. Charles owned Reed & Associates P.C. CPA’s for many years. He
received many awards in the accounting profession during his career. His work
was his hobby.
Survivors include his loving wife
of sixty-eight years, Needa Reed of Port Arthur; daughter, Grace Y’vonne Blair
of Port Arthur; sons, Chuck Reed and his wife, Leslie, of Nederland; Dan Reed
and his wife, Sue, of Garland; and Jon Reed and his wife, Beth, of Port Neches;
grandchildren, Jackson, Danny, Heather, Jill, J.D., Greg, Charlie, Katie, Joe,
Kayla, Grace, and Tommy; great-grandchildren, Cade, Keily, David, Sadie, Ayden,
and Landon; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Kristi and Sarah;
and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; sisters, Syble Massey, Rosetta Robin, Yvonne Carlisle, and Betty Jo
Dillard; and brother, Noble Wayne Reed.
A gathering of Mr. Reed’s family
and friends will be at 10:00 a.m. with his memorial service at 11:00 a.m.,
Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street,
Nederland. A private family committal was held at Broussard’s, Crematorium,
Beaumont.
