Kenneth Dale Coker, 73, of Beauxart Gardens, died Wednesday,
March 4, 2015. He was born on November 16, 1941, in Liberty, to Bessie Viola
Purswell Coker and Johnnie Earsel Coker.
Kenneth was a United States Army veteran, a longtime member
of Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368 AF and AM, and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed
gardening and spending time at his farm. Kenneth also was a lifetime member and
trustee at Beauxart Gardens Baptist Church. He retired from Neches Butane after
eighteen years of service, before owning and operating Coker’s Doors and
Moulding until his retirement in 1999. Kenneth’s greatest joy was spending time
with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Rossie
Coker of Beauxart Gardens; daughter, Brenda Kay Gentry and her husband, Chris,
of Beauxart Gardens; son, Travis Lee Coker and his wife, Jamie, of Beauxart
Gardens; grandchildren, Ashley and Ethan Murphy; Haley, Trent, and Reese Coker;
and Christopher and Adam Gentry and his wife, Kristin; great-grandchildren,
Colbie, Camden, and Bekym Gentry; sister, Wilma Arlene Eddy and her husband,
Ted, of Beauxart Gardens; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Ray Coker;
and grandparents, John David and Lela Coker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to
Gentiva Hospice and Quality Care for their exceptional care.
A gathering of Mr. Coker’s family and friends will be from
5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March
7, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland. Interment with military honors will follow
at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
