Verma Jean Cating, 87, of Hamshire, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was born on January 19, 1928, in Sour Lake, to Winnie Davis Means West and Harry West.

Mrs. Cating is survived by her daughter, Sonya Caraway, of Winnie; son, Rocky Cating and his wife, Brenda, of Colorado; grandchildren, Kimberly Caraway, Greg Caraway, Shelley Caraway and Anthony Woodard, all of Winnie; and Sharon Cating, of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Kristi and Kyle Caraway; Aric Ard; Jesse Caraway; Kelsy, Ian and Stephen Woodard; and Kaycee Caraway; and brother, Herman West, of Winnie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jesse Lee Cating.

A gathering of Mrs. Cating’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
