Julius W. Lamkin

Julius W. Lamkin, 84, of Nederland, died Tuesday,
March 3, 2015, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was
born on February 26, 1931, in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, to Emily Ola Francis
Lamkin and Ira Gilbert Lamkin.
Julius enjoyed walking each day, traveling, metal
detecting, and riding his bicycle. He also enjoyed watching Martins teaching their
young to fly and maintaining their home. After retirement he always stayed
active up until physically unable to do so.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Cloyd and her
husband, Richard, of Vidor; grandson, Jason Cloyd and his wife, Rhonda, of
Nederland; great-grandchildren, Landon, Justin, and Addison; and sister,
Katherine Durbonne of Alexandria,
Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mattie
Lamkin; two sisters; and one brother.
A gathering of Mr. Lamkin’s family and friends will be
at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at
Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Interment will follow
at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Lamkin’s
memory to a hospice of one’s choice.
