Marion E. “Sapo” Cox, 84, of Beaumont, died
Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Christus Hospital – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He
was born on March 20, 1930, in Many, Louisiana, to Taleath Bell Arnold Cox and
Marion Elijah Cox.
Survivors include his daughter, Gaynell Rowley of
Baytown; brothers, James Cox of Stowell and Calvin Pete Cox of Pasadena;
sister, Barbara Ann Young of Many, Louisiana; niece, Beth Samson of Baytown;
adopted daughter, Helen Marie Smith of Beaumont; and numerous other family
members.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers,
Lige Cox, Nevel Cox, Carl Cox, and Roy Cox.
A gathering of Mr. Cox’s family and friends will be
from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Broussard’s,
2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His graveside
service will be 10:15 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015, at Houston National
Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
