Patricia Polk DesOrmeaux
May 8, 1938 - February 17, 2015
Patricia
Joyce DesOrmeaux, 76, of Nederland, passed away after a lengthy illness on
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. She was born on May 8, 1938, in Iola, to
Ruthie Mosley Polk and James L. Polk.
Patricia was
known as Gegaw to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she
treasured dearly. She never failed to say, “I love you with all my heart and
don’t you forget it”, when saying goodbye to those she loved. In recent months,
she found great comfort by the visits of her loved ones and enjoyed listening
to her favorite gospel hymns with them. Patricia will be sorely missed by those
that knew and loved her.
Survivors
include her loving husband of forty-two years, Raymond J. DesOrmeaux; sister, Jessie
F. Merriman of Nederland; daughters, Bobbie Bouillon of Beaumont; Pat Wilson
and her husband, Ray, of Orange; Janis Pokraka and her husband, Tracy, of
Nederland; Lisa Bouillon of Orange; Elyse Bouillon of Starks, Louisiana; Rhonda
Baillio of Silsbee; Julie Gonzalez and her husband, Al, of Centennial,
Colorado; Raelyn Huber of Grundy, Virginia; and Jana Jennings of Port Arthur;
sons, Charles DeOrmeaux and his wife, Dawn, of Woodsboro and Michael
DesOrmeaux and his wife, Judie, of North Pole, Alaska; twenty-seven grandchildren;
and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Lee Polk; and son-in-law,
Duane Huber.
The family
wishes to extend a thank you to Altus Hospice and staff for the special care
giving to mom.
A gathering
of Mrs. DesOrmeaux’s family
and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015,
at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral will
be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland. Interment
will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
