Gloria M. French, 85, of Nederland, died Monday, February 16, 2015, at
Oak Grove Nursing Home, Groves. She was born on March 13, 1929, in Port Arthur,
to Josephine Batista and Ferdinand Fornols, Sr., and had been a lifelong
resident of the area.
Gloria was a charter and fifty-six year member of Nederland Eastern
Star #1079. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking and baking. Gloria
was an avid reader and took great care of plants. She was a member of First
United Methodist Church of Nederland.
Gloria is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Robert French
of Nederland; daughter, Paula French Hebert and her husband, Glenn, of Port
Arthur; sons, Robert E. French of Princeton; Mark Allen French of Port Arthur; Douglas
Wright and his wife, Prissy, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Terry and Diane,
Christina and Ty, Nena, Marcus, Alexander, Denise, Chris, Danny, and Tommy;
great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Cody, Logan, Tyler, Taylor, Nicholas, Beaux,
Lucas, Nathan, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Nevaeh, and Imani; brothers, Ferdinand
Fornols, Jr. of Erath, Louisiana and Frank Fornols and his wife, Debra, of
Fannett; and sister, Judy Dies of Nederland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and several brothers and
sisters.
A gathering of Mrs. French’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February
19, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 123 North 13th Street,
Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
