Carolyn Girard Brown, 60, of Hamshire, died Sunday, February 15, 2015.
She was born on October 4, 1954, in Jasper, to Finetta Hooks Cochran and L.D. Jack
Cochran.
Carolyn aka “Red” was a dedicated RN for almost twenty-five years at
Park Place Hospital and The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She touched the
lives of all her patients and co-workers through the years. Carolyn lived on a ranch and had a passion
for horses and the outdoors. She also enjoyed knitting scarves, gardening, and
making jewelry. Carolyn was a truly beloved daughter, wife, mother,
grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, and will be missed beyond measure.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, James Allen Brown of Hamshire;
daughter; Dr. Ali Walls and her husband, Mathew, of Pearland; stepdaughter,
Jennifer McCollough and her husband, Don, of Beaumont; stepson, Jarrod Brown of
Orangefield; grandchildren, Mason Walls, Noah Walls, Peyton McCollough, Abbi
McCollough, and Makayla Brown; sisters, Theresa Gigliotta and Jacqueline Weldon; and
brother, L.D. Dee Cochran.
She is preceded in death by her father.
A Rosary for Mrs. Brown will be recited at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering
of her family and friends to follow, Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at
Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015, at St. Louis Catholic
Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview
Cemetery, Winnie.
