Mary Lou Richards, 86, of Nederland, died Saturday,
February 14, 2015. She was born March 27, 1928, in Port Arthur, to Lila Parks
and William Tom Eakes.
Mary had a license for Cosmetology and was a
realtor in Mid-County for over twenty years. She was very artistic and could
paint, draw, and sew. Mary was a member of the Port Arthur Assembly #160
S.O.O.B. She was a charter and fifty-six year member of O.E.S. Nederland 1079. Mary
was a member of Church on the Rock.
Mary is survived by her son, Wade Richards and his
wife, Sandra, of Nederland; daughter, Tammi Jordon and her husband, Bob, of
Nederland; grandchildren, Jared Richards and his wife, Mandy; Jason Richards
and his wife, Sara; and Brian Jordon; great-grandchildren, Layton and Teagan
Richards; sister, Rusty McDaniel and her husband, Buddy, of Baytown; brother,
Rev. Thomas Eakes of Newburg, Oregon; and a host of other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and
husband of sixty-five years, Carl J. Richards.
The family would like to extend a special thank you
to Catherine Greene, Megan Grimes, Earth Angels and Compassion Hospice.
A gathering of Mrs.
Richards’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday,
February 17, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
Her funeral service, with Eastern Star honors, will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday,
February 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff
Memorial Park, Port Neches.
