Jack Tim Payton, 79, of High
Island, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas,
Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of High Island, he was born on
September 3, 1935, to Audria Coleman Payton and Noah Payton.
Survivors include his loving
wife, Connie Payton of High Island; daughter, Linda Payton Dempsey; and son, Tim
Payton and his wife, Laura, all of Splendora; grandchildren, Ruth Thompson and
her husband, Matthew; Nathan Payton; Naomi Nelson and her husband, Justin; and
Holly Payton; great-grandchildren, Riley Nelson, Amy Nelson, Aiyana Nelson,
Layla Nelson, Kevin Nelson, Jaylin Angel, and Breanna Angel; and sisters, Erin
Mae Pinckney and Mary Ruth Gau.
A gathering of Mr. Payton’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February
11, 2015, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. His funeral service will
be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to
follow at High Island Cemetery, High Island. Serving as pallbearers will be
Wesley Paul Cartwright, Ben Payton, Ernest Payton, Jerry Pinckney, Nathan
Payton, and Matt Thompson. Mr. Payton’s nephews will serve as honorary
pallbearers.

assisted during Mr. Payton’s recent illness, Perston Gau, Darla and Jack Daily,
