Edwin Ray Fountain, 89, of
Nederland, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Conroe Regional Medical Center.
He was born on November 14, 1925, in Port Neches, to Alzenith Ruth Sweeney Fountain
and Russell LaFayette Fountain.
Edwin was a United States Navy
veteran having served in World War II. He retired after thirty-five years as a supervisor
for the water treatment plant at Neches Butane, which is currently Chevron-Texaco.
Survivors include his daughter,
Phyllis Earnest and her husband, Ronnie, of Montgomery; grandchildren, Jamie
Trice and her husband, Kent, of Benton, Arkansas; Julie Rodriguez and her
husband, Rene, of Houston; and Katrina Fountain and her fiancé, Andrew
Livingston, of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Madison Earnest, Sophia
Livingston, Rylee Livingston, Analise Rodriguez, Haylie Trice, Hannah Trice,
and Levi Trice; sisters, Joyce Mosse of Dayton and Jewel Root of Nederland.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Harliene Liggett; sons, Ray, Jr. and Terry Fountain; and
brothers, Herbert Lee and Keith Fountain.
A gathering of Mr. Fountain’s
family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow
at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 13,
2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Interment, with
military honors, will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
