Gloria Noble

Gloria Noble, 91, of Nederland, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, Groves. A native and lifelong resident of the area, she was born on September 17, 1923, in Nederland, to Abbie Elizabeth McLaurin and Gordon Byron Wilson.

Gloria retired as a teacher’s aide from Hillcrest Elementary, Nederland. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her sons, Craig Noble and his wife, Karen, of Nederland and Barry Noble and his wife, Lea, of Mississippi; daughter, Dr. Cynthia Noble and Tiffany Woods of Oregon; grandchildren, Stephenie Schlett and her husband, Rocky, of Nederland; Lyndsay Noble of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Kari Noble of Mississippi; and Maggie Noble of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Abbie Schlett and Bobby; Stephen Schlett; Katie Schlett and Korbin; Aidan Dyson; Mason Dyson; Preston Noble; and Kylie Christopher; great-great grandchildren, Gloria Parrott and Jaxson Stampley.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Noble; and son, Tim Noble.

A gathering of Mrs. Noble’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 104 North 13th Street, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
