Robert Walker Duke, Sr.

Robert Walker Duke, Sr., 86, of Lumberton, died Friday,
January 2, 2015, at Christus
Hospital St. Elizabeth,
Beaumont. He was born on January 31,
1928, in Voth, Texas, to Hazel Kirk Shutter Duke and
Charles Byrd Duke, Sr. Robert was a
United States Navy veteran. He was a retired welder and member of First Baptist
Church of Loeb.
Survivors include his children,
Robert W. Duke, Jr., Retha W. Duke, and Darin W. Duke, all of Lumberton;
grandchildren, Rebecca Bagley, Reshell Ross, Robert W. Duke III “Trey”, Hunter
Duke, Cheyenne Duke, Jodi Copes, Jeannie Hill, and Ashton Sutphen; thirteen
great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Duke and his wife, Linda, of Lumberton; and
sister, Doris Babineaux and her husband, Ralph, of Beaumont.
He is preceded in death by his parents;
siblings, Charles Duke, Hazel Tomlinson, David Duke, and Carolyn Culvert; and
grandson, David Hawkins.
A gathering of Mr. Duke’s family
and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015, at
Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road,
Silsbee. His funeral service will be
2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow
at Knupple Cemetery, Silsbee.
