Karrol Schull
June 23, 1942 - December 31, 2014
Karrol Claudiastine Thompson Schull was born to Gladys and
Jay Thompson, on June 23, 1942, in Beaumont.
She passed from this life surrounded in love by her family on December 31,
2014.
Having been raised in Vidor, the youngest of three
children, Karrol met the love of her life, Danny Schull, and they were married
March 24, 1961. The two made a wonderful life full of love together on Diana Drive in Lumberton, where they
would remain all the years of their long and happy marriage. During these years
they raised two beautiful daughters, Danice and Millette. These girls
were Karrol’s pride and she made sure to instill in them the beliefs and values
she carried every day. The successes of her girls were her successes, and
they numbered many and were never missed by Karrol.
With Danny, Karrol had a full life of fun and
adventure. They loved to fish and hunt together and took every opportunity to outshine one another with the best
or the biggest of the trip. Danny usually made sure Karrol won. Through
these trips and endeavors Karrol and Danny made lifelong friends who she
treasured always. Karrol also loved to drag Danny to Wal-Mart.
These trips were usually for just in case items because she was always
prepared. As Christmas was her favorite time of the year, she usually
started shopping and preparing in January. Just as she did every day, she made
sure that everyone and anyone was welcome to share in Christmas at her house.
When she became a grandmother, Karrol became Maw.
This was more of a badge than a name. She saw it as her responsibility to spoil
all of her grandkids and to make each feel that they were her favorite, as
Dallon, Jake, Mauri, Cole, and Maranda, each believe they are. She never
missed games, recitals, graduations, birthdays,
or school programs. She was there to share in it all. More recently
with her grand children getting older and starting new chapters, Maw got a
whole new generation to spoil, great-grand babies, Emma Jo and Riter
Boone. As her greatest legacy, it is her grandkids that will carry her
forward and continue as Maw would have and share her love with future
generations of her family.
Karrol walked through this life with a grace not bestowed
upon many. Every person she met became her friend and instantly loved
her. She became their Maw too. Karrol was a caretaker who relished
the opportunity to give any piece of herself to make others feel special and
loved. She never boasted and never asked for anything. Karrol was
an angel that walked with us and now we are blessed that she will be with us
always.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Danny; daughters,
Danice James and her husband, Joey and Millette Wheeler and her husband, Lee;
grandchildren, Dallon James and his wife, Laney; Jacob Wheeler; Mauri James;
Cole Wheeler; and Maranda James; and great-grandchildren, Emma Jo James and
Riter Boone James.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; brother,
Jay Richard Thompson; and sister, Janice Minton; sister-in-law, Shirley Ann
Overstreet; and brother-in-law, John Henry Schull.
A gathering of Mrs. Schull’s family and friends will be
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Broussard’s, 490
Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January
4, 2015, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Leatherwood
Cemetery, Lumberton.
