Elmida L. Berthlot Miller

Elmida L. Berthlot Miller, 87, of Port Acres, died Friday, December 26, 2014, at Harbor Hospice House, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of the area, she was born on April 28, 1927, in Port Acres, to Dana Courts and Wallace Berthlot.

Elmida retired after thirty years working in customer services for Southern Union Gas Company. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church and was a wonderful seamstress.  

Survivors include her sons, Dan Miller and his wife, Diane, of Silsbee and Jerry Miller and his wife, Cindy, of Nederland; daughter, Karen Priest and her husband, Dale, of Beaumont; grandchildren, David Miller and his wife, Melissa, of Austin; Jacob Miller of Boston, Massachusetts; and Rachel Williams and her husband, Michael and Jenny Miller, all of Beaumont; great-grandson, Christan David Miller; and special family friend, Carl Hanks of Beaumont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LT. James C. Miller.; and brothers, Woodrow Berthlot and Roger Berthlot.  

A gathering of Mrs. Miller’s family and friends will be at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Port Arthur.
