Kenneth Lee Ortego, 53, of Port
Acres, died Saturday, December 13, 2014. A native and lifelong resident of the
area, he was born on October 19, 1961, in Port Acres, to Willemina Harmsen and
John Lee Ortego. Kenneth was a security guard at Lofton Security.
Survivors include his mother,
Willemina Ortego of Port Acres; sister, Michelle Ortego of Portland, Oregon;
brother, Jimmie Ortego and his wife Belinda Gilchrist of Lufkin; nieces,
Stormie Ortego of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Lisa Herrick and Sabrina Herrick,
both of Mobile, Alabama; nephews, John Ortego of klamath Falls, Oregon; Allan
Gilchrist and his wife, Tabitha, of El
Paso; Jonathan Bertrand and Damien Bertrand and his wife, Vanessa, all of Vidor;
and Bobby Herrick of Mobile, Alabama; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He
is preceded in death by his father and sisters, Patricia Bertrand and Gay Nell
Herrick.
A gathering of Mr. Ortego’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 19,
2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral
service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Broussard’s,
Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
