Carol Dawn Shilling, 65, of Silsbee, died Wednesday,
December 3, 2014. She was born on
December 19, 1948, in Auckland,
New Zealand, to
Marjorie Cialentano McNaughton and Lionel Robert Howard McNaughton. Mrs. Shilling was a retired educator for Silsbee Independent School District.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Shilling of Silsbee;
sister, Christine O’Neill of Silsbee; daughters, Carla Amerman and her husband,
Ryan, of Austin; Amanda Brown and her husband, Daniel, of Houston; and Lisa
Gruschkus and her husband, Stephen, of Missouri City; grandchildren, Caroline
and Colin Amerman, Madeline and Jacob Brown, Anderson and Parker Wright, and
Avery Gruschkus; and brother-in-law, Virgil Shilling. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of Mrs. Shilling’s family and friends will be
from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road,
Silsbee. Her funeral service will be
11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014, at First
United Methodist
Church, 670 North 5th Street, Silsbee,
with interment to follow at Hardin
Memorial Park, Silsbee.
