Betty
Lou Wellons, 85, left her earthly family on Monday, December 1, 2014. A
lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born November 10, 1929, to Ada and
Philip Buteaud. Our mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend is now with her
heavenly family.
She
is survived by her daughters, Connie Heaps and her husband, David, and Sandy
Garner; grandchildren, Tamika Smith and Loren Smith; great-grandchildren,
Darren, Lauren, Amber, Brittanie, Laila, and James Robert;
great-great-grandchildren, Haley and Branson; and many nieces, nephews, and
friends.
Betty
is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Tillman Wellons; sister,
Eloise Strang; son-in-law, Robert Garner, Jr.; and granddaughter, Tiffany
Georgous.
A
gathering of Mrs. Wellons’ family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with a
Christian Vigil at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000
McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., at St.
Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont. Her interment will follow
at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
