Brooks Bond
August 12, 1926 - November 27, 2014

 

Brooks Bond, 88, of Port Neches, died Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.  A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on August 12, 1926, in Beaumont, to Maude Luke and Milton Brook Bond.

Brooks was a United States Army veteran and had retired after forty-two years from Mobil Oil as a Maintenance Coordinator. He received his pilot’s license in 1948. Brooks enjoyed welding, duck hunting, and having his own fabrication shop at his home.

Survivors include a host of close friends and adopted family including his namesake, Weston Brooks Gernentz. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Mary Bond.

Mr. Bond’s service will be at the Hillside Mausoleum, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
