Gerald Pelt,
53, of Nederland, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014. A native and lifelong
resident of the area, he was born on August 24, 1961, in Port Arthur, to
Elizabeth Joan Young and E.L. Pelt. Gerald was a phone man for Southwestern
Bell.
Survivors
include his mother, Joan Pelt of Nederland; son, Lucas Pelt and his wife,
Julia, of Nederland; daughter, Megan Pelt of Nederland; grandchildren, Cheyenne
and Wyatt Pelt, both of Nederland; sister, Sharon Sherer and her husband, Kirk,
of Nederland; niece, Ashlyn Sherer of Nederland; nephew, Ryan Sherer of
Nederland; and his loving companion, chocolate lab, Kalua. He was preceded in
death by his father, E.L. Pelt.
A gathering of
Mr. Pelt’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday,
December 1, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at
Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park,
Port Neches.
