Annell
Hanley, 80, of Nederland, died Sunday morning peacefully, November 16, 2014, at
Harbor Hospice House, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of the area, she
was born on March 29, 1934, at Hotel Dieu in Beaumont, to Inez Freeman and
Alvin S. Chesnut. Annell and her friend, Elaine Brumfield, enjoyed representing
the class of 1951 in the Alumni Association. She was a devoted longtime member
of the First United Methodist Church of Nederland.
Survivors
include her husband, Carrel Hanley of sixty-two years; daughter, Mariann
Curtice and her husband, Britt; sons, Mark Hanley and his wife, Ashley and Matt
Hanley and his wife, Dawn; sister, Linda Cobb and her husband, James; eight
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
son, Michael Hanley and his wife, Deborah.
A gathering
of Mrs. Hanley’s family and friends will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, 18, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at
Broussard’s, Nederland, with entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park,
Port Neches.
