Edward
“Eddie” Hornaday, 88, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at
Christus Hospital- St Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on August 30, 1926, to
Nellie Olive Landreth and Henry W. Hornaday, in Fordyce, Arkansas. Eddie was a
United States Army Air Corps veteran having served in World War II. He retired
as a manager and oil field perforator for Dresser Oil Company and completed his
career at Great Guns in Sour Lake.
Survivors
include his wife of sixty-six years, Evelyn Hornaday; daughters, Brenda
Honeycutt and her husband, Bradley, of Beaumont; Lois Mitchell and her husband,
Reverend Jimmy Mitchell, of Pensacola, Florida; and Marty McKnight and her
husband, Marion, of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and
his cat and companion, Jezzi.
He
is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
A
gathering of Mr. Hornaday’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive,
Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 15,
2014, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery,
Silsbee.
