Rhoneta Faye Brown
June 27, 1918 - October 1, 2014
Rhoneta Faye McDonald Brown, 96, of Beaumont, entered her
eternal home on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 surrounded by family after a brief
illness. She was born on June 27, 1918, in Gustine, Texas, to W.E. and Mary McDonald. She had five sisters and two brothers.
Rhoneta married her high school sweetheart Charlie Hiram
Brown on September 21, 1935. They spent
most of their seventy-three years of marriage in Nederland, Orangefield and
Beaumont. She retired from BF Goodrich
Ameripol-Synpol in 1979, after twenty-seven years of service. Rhoneta was a
member of First Methodist Church of Vidor and attended Christian Fellowship
Worship Center in Beaumont.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Ronald and
Marilyn Brown of Orangefield and Mack and Linda Brown of Port Neches; one daughter and her husband, Rita Brown and
Tom Harris of Arkansas; son-in-law, D.D.
Perkins of Orangefield; eleven
grandchildren, Debra and John Page of San Antonio, Sheri Perkins of
Orangefield, Mike and Mary Brown of California; Daryl Brown and Luci Sheppard
of Riviera; Ron and Patricia Brown of The Woodlands; Darren and Genia Brown of
Port Neches; Don and Melynda Brown of Port Neches; Dusty and Rochelle Brown of
Louisiana; Renee Whelply of Port Neches; Todd and Leigh Harris of Houston;
Bryan Harris of Houston; and Angella and Blake Estess of Dallas; step-granddaughter; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and eight
great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-three
years, Charlie Brown; her daughter, Patricia Brown Perkins; her parents; three
sisters; and two brothers.
A gathering of Mrs. Brown’s family and friends will begin at
12:00 p.m., with her celebration of life service to follow at 2:00 p.m.,
Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street,
Nederland, with interment to follow at the Brown family plot in Oak Bluff
Memorial Park, Port Neches.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Brown’s memory to
Buckner Children’s Village 9055 Manion Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
The family expresses their appreciation to the caring and
compassionate staffs of Summer Place and Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas for
the loving care shown to their Mother.
Rhoneta
was a remarkable woman who lived a remarkable life.
