Harold "Paw" Joseph Champagne

Harold
Joseph “Paw” Champagne, 82, of Winnie, died Thursday, September 18, 2014. He was
born August 25, 1932, in Port Bolivar, to Mary Rodriguez Champagne and John E. Champagne,
and had been a resident of Winnie for thirty-five years.
Harold
was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Moran Towing, as a
chief engineer on a tug boat. Harold was a longtime member of the Seafarers
International Union, but most of all, he was a devoted Dad and Paw.
Mr.
Champagne is survived by daughter, Roxanne Becker and her husband, Rickey; and sons,
Clifton Champagne and his wife, Sharon and Mark Champagne, all of Winnie;
grandchildren, Alexis Becker Walters and her husband, Marshall; Jacqueline
Champagne Dunson and her husband, Travis, and Phillip Becker, all of Winnie; Shawn
Becker and his wife, Katy, of Kingwood; great-grandchildren, Brooke Becker,
Jackson and Garrison Becker, Audrey Becker, Reagan and Sydney Walters, and Gentry
Dunson; sister, Hazel Reeves and her husband, Frank, of Livingston.
He
is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey
Alexander Champagne; and son, Douglas Champagne.
A
gathering of Mr. Champagne’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer
Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 22,
2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
