Virginia Fichera, 70, of Katy, formerly of Port
Arthur, died Sunday, September 14, 2014, in Katy. She was born on April 14,
1944, in Port Arthur, to Marianne and Thomas Santiago Rivas.
Virginia was a retired electronics sales associate
from Wal-Mart with twenty years of service. She will be remembered for her
cooking, crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and being a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, John
Fichera of Port Arthur; son, David Fichera and his wife, Elizabeth, of Houston;
and daughters, Valerie Davidson and Mariann King and her husband, Kenneth, all
of Houston; grandchildren, Garrett, Karissa, Amber, Cory, Chase, Miranda, and
Madeline; great-granddaughter, Evelyn; brothers, Johnny Rivas and his wife,
Marie, of Austin and Larry Rivas and his wife, Addie, of Port Arthur; sister,
Nora Seaux and her husband, Joseph, of Port Arthur; and numerous nieces,
nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and
several brothers and sisters.
A gathering of Mrs. Fichera’s family and friends
will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.,
Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September
18, 2014, at Broussard’s with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Port
Arthur.
